Dr. Mindy Homer

Dr. Mindy has been in private practice since 2004 and is the founder of Happy KiDDS Pediatric Dentistry. She is committed to providing the highest quality of dental care to children while making it a fun and educational experience.

Dr. Mindy grew up on the east end of Long Island. She then traveled to Coral Gables, FL where she graduated from The University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree. Her love for New York brought her back to attend Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. It was there that she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and her passion for pediatrics blossomed. Determined to expand her knowledge in pediatrics, Dr. Mindy completed her residency training at the prestigious Columbia Presbyterian Children’s Hospital in New York City.

Dr. Mindy further validated her expertise in pediatric dentistry by obtaining board certification. She remains an active Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a member of the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the New York State Dental Association.

Dr. Mindy pursues an active lifestyle with her husband and daughter. She enjoys sailing, horseback riding, snowboarding, and running. Keep an eye out, it is not uncommon to see her running around town.

Dr. Vrutti Davé

Dr. Davé grew up on Long Island. She then attended New York University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree with an emphasis on psychology and biology. She went on to complete her dental education at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery and graduated with honors.  She then completed a general practice residency at Helen Hayes Hospital, treating patients who were medically compromised, developmentally delayed, and who had spinal and traumatic brain injuries.

Dr. Davé practiced as a general practitioner in Michigan, before pursuing pediatric dentistry at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, where she also served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Davé is a recipient of the 2017 American Board of Pediatric Dentistry Richard C. Pugh Achievement Award for scoring in the top 3% of all candidates

completing the written exam.  She is an active member of the AmericanAcademy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.  She is also certified by the Northeastern Regional Board and certified in CPR and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

She has a strong passion for community outreach and has volunteered locally and abroad in Guatemala. Her goal is to provide high-quality dental care for children in a fun, caring, and compassionate manner.

In her spare time, Dr. Davé enjoys hiking, reading a good book, baking, trying new recipes, and traveling with her husband.

Dr. Reesha Shah

Dr. Reesha considers it a privilege to provide the highest level of dental care for children in a warm and nurturing atmosphere.

She grew up in Tampa, Florida and attended the University of Florida, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She then received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from Boston University, where she graduated with high honors. She went on to complete a general practice residency, as well as a pediatric dentistry residency at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. The experience she obtained while working in one of the most diverse areas of the country was unparalleled, allowing her to gain exposure to a wide variety of complex cases.

Dr. Reesha is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the

American Dental Association. She is passionate about giving back to the community and has dedicated her time to many volunteer programs, including Give Kids a Smile and New York Cares, as well as an international dental outreach program in Haiti.

As a mother herself, Dr. Reesha understands the importance of creating a positive dental experience, and she strives to keep her patients smiling with her gentle touch. She promotes prevention and is excited to build great oral health habits starting at a young age.

In her spare time, Dr. Reesha loves traveling, cooking, reading, and spending time with her husband and daughter.

Dr. Sharon D'Silva

Dr. Sharon D’Silva was born and raised in Dix Hills, NY. She attended Washington University in St. Louis, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She continued her education at Tufts University, earning her Doctorate of Dental Medicine, where she graduated cum laude and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society. Dr. D’Silva went on to complete her orthodontic residency and obtain her Certificate in Orthodontics at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. After graduating, she worked in a private practice in Baltimore, Maryland.

 

Dr. D’Silva is excited to be moving back home to New York with her fiancé and family. She believes everyone deserves to look and feel their best, and looks forward to helping each patient have the smile of their dreams.

Her professional affiliations include the American Board of Orthodontics (Boards Certified Orthodontist), American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the New York State Society of Orthodontists, and the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists. 

 

In her free time, Dr. D'Silva enjoys traveling, water sports, cooking (and eating, of course!), and quality time with friends and family. 

Dr. David Sherman

Dr. David Sherman graduated from Great Neck North High School in 1996. He then studied at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 2000 having earned his bachelor’s degree in economics. Dr. Dave then proceeded to SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in 2004. He graduated in the top 10% of his class while receiving multiple awards and honors.

After graduating from Stony Brook, Dr. Dave pursued his post-graduate training in orthodontics at the New York University College of Dentistry. As Chief Resident, Dr. Dave completed a two-year research project investigating the effects of the Invisalign® appliance on patients' periodontal health. He maintains his affiliation with NYU as an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthodontics. He lectures to future dentists on the use of the Invisalign® system.

Dr. Dave is the founder of the Progressive Study Club of Long Island. He has also lectured locally to the Great Neck Dental Study Club, the Nassau County Dental Society, the Suffolk County Dental Society, the Progressive Study Club of Long Island, and the Garden City Dental Institute on Invisalign® and other orthodontic topics.

Dr. Dave is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Northeast Society of Orthodontists, the New York State Society of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, and the Nassau County Dental Society. He has been on the Board of Directors of the Nassau County Dental Society for over 10 years, and he was recently appointed to its Executive Board.

In addition to his skills in the field of orthodontics, Dr. Dave is an avid sports fan. He played football at the University of Pennsylvania and enjoys skiing and golfing. Dr. Dave married his college sweetheart, Hillary, and together they have two adorable sons, Zachary and Matthew. In their spare time, the Shermans love to travel and are avid skiers.
